Hi everyone! I'm Ben, the founder of BMG Tutors, where we offer affordable tutoring services tailored to students and adults of all ages. With thousands of hours of tutoring experience, I am committed to providing expert private tutoring to help each learner succeed.
I hold a bachelor's degree in history and political science, along with a master's degree in government and politics. My tutoring expertise spans middle school, high school, college, and graduate students, and I specialize in AP US History and AP US Government. Additionally, I review, proofread, and provide prompt feedback on writing in any form, ensuring my students excel in their assignments.
I also work with professionals seeking to improve their writing skills. If your writing is holding you back at work, I can help! I offer online tutoring sessions for those looking to enhance the quality of their professional correspondence, including emails, memos, and reports. I frequently collaborate with students for whom English is not their first language, making our virtual private tutor sessions highly effective.
During graduate school, I focused on American politics. In 2013, I began tutoring undergraduates in history and political science, and two years later, I started teaching at the college level. As a graduate student, I led weekly discussion sections, grading and providing feedback on exams, term papers, and other assignments.
For three semesters, I taught US Congress to upperclassmen and have covered political theory, pre-law, and introductory courses in American government. My academic background includes extensive coursework on interest groups, social movements, congressional lobbying, campaign advertising, voter behavior, and federal institutions.
I truly enjoy working with students and thrive in scholastic settings. The exposure to diverse perspectives is intellectually stimulating, and I love formulating and articulating complex ideas. The challenge of reconciling seemingly divergent viewpoints and traditions is incredibly rewarding.
